FIRST CHRISTIE’S HANDBAG SALE IN LONDON ESTABLISHES THE HIGHEST PRICE PAID FOR A HANDBAG AT AUCTION IN EUROPE

Lot 63, a shiny bleu marine porosus crocodile diamond Birkin 35 with 18 carat white gold and diamond hardware, made in 2007 at Hermès, just sold for US$196,540 (approx. AED 725,225 ) in the ongoing HANDBAG auction in London and established the new world record price for any handbag sold at auction in Europe.

Just two weeks ago Christie’s also established the highest price ever paid for any handbag at auction in the world at US$379,261 (approx. AED 1,393,285) in Hong Kong.
