Pre wedding

Bharat Moolchandi and Dr. Mehek Kukreja’s wedding already has all the right feel about it.

The festivities taking place at The W, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, this weekend is sure to #BooM its way into everybody’s heart!

The #BooM wedding is fully packed with every details that speak the love story of the couple, the one of its kind bar and exclusive props are sure to have you cheers-ing all night long and some power-packed surprises along the way to surprise the guests

Before we get to see the wedding pictures let’s get to know the Bride & the Groom

Dr. Mehek Kukreja & Bharath Kumar Mulchandani

Bride Dr. Mehek Kukreja, Aspiring Dermatologist
Mehek is currently pursuing MD in Dermatology in India. Extremely passionate about skincare, Mehek is running a page on Instagram called ‘@skinspired’ that lets her educate the world about skincare ‘one blemish at a time’! Mehek is a contributor to the popular website ‘Betches’ and has shared the POV of doctors during the pandemic.

Groom Bharath Kumar Mulchandani, Entrepreneur
After graduating with a degree of BSc (Hons) in Business Management (Marketing & Finance) from the University of Manchester in the UK, Bharath went to Dubai and joined the family business: Florida Textiles LLC, a textile trading company. He learned the tricks of the trade by working amongst the staff for a month in each department which helped him create a bottom-up approach in the company, he took charge as the Assisting Managing Director. It was only when he planned and executed his sister’s wedding that I realised his true calling. He immediately enrolled himself in the EMDI Institute, Dubai, to get some formal learning in the field of Event Management & Innovative Marketing which was taught by real-life experts in Dubai’s event industry.

They met through a common friend and  ready to say no to each other even before they met, because  of their diverse background. But, once they started talking, it went on and on, the first conversation lasted for more than two hours, the rest is history!

The Proposal

Bharath, the groom, proposed to Mehek with an anatomically shaped heart vase with flowers and the promise ring on one of the arteries. The same concept was used for the wedding logo as that single image put together their entire love story. The anatomical heart represented the doctor, the flowers represented the event planner, and the union of the two formed their wedding logo.

The cocktail and ring ceremony was a very colorful affair.

The W Hotel was decked up with their hashtag #BooM

DJ AJ Wavy flew down from London for the wedding and made the guests dance to his beats. He was accompanied by DJ IRF. Hashtag Affairs was covering the photography of the entire event. They have won an influencer award from Wedding Sutra, a prominent wedding service provider platform.

Macro influencer, Dixita Patel was flown down from Mumbai just to guide guests with poses for the photo booth at all the events.
Khudgharz band from Pakistan was flown down to perform at the wedding reception.
Entertainer, Walter Scalzone lit the dance floor on fire with his drumming and beats.
For the wedding reception, the hotel had a custom name and hashtag on display on the grid shell of the hotel.

They customised a BooM carpet and placed it for welcoming guests to the hotel and every entryway of each event.

BooM Carpet

The wedding included a royal Indian Baraat on the 9th floor of the W Abu Dhabi, Yas Island Hotel where the groom was sitting on a 6ft tall faux elephant with a wedding procession dancing to the royal drummers and Indian dhol walas BooM BooM beats.

There were custom face mascots made for 2 of the functions acting as a photo op for guests while also giving them a break.

The coat worn by the groom for the wedding had a symbolic meaning to it as well. It had the constellations of the night where he met the bride in Nagpur, India, engraved on it. It was a custom embroidered gown made by Delhi-based fashion designer, Siddhartha Tytler.
