Thierry Quintric has been appointed as the new Executive Chef of Hormuz Grand, Muscat. He joins the hotel’s team from Burj Rafal Hotel Kempinski, Riyadh-Saudi Arabia.
Mr. Quintric has more than 25 years of culinary experience in luxury hotels and fine dining restaurants in Europe, Africa & Middle East.
At Hormuz Grand Muscat, A Radisson Collection Hotel Thierry will introduce his cooking philosophy of simple refined techniques with a focus on the essentials. His focus will be to implement local flavors whilst respecting the taste and qualities of fresh produce. Already his input created a cuisine that appeals to the well-traveled Muscat foodies and hotel guests. The award-winning chef brings years of International experience to his first job in the Sultanate of Oman.
A native of Brest, France, Thierry Quintric joined a culinary school at the age of 17, formally beginning his apprenticeship/career four years later. He started a professional career in the mid 90’s in Europe where he worked for a number of Michelin star properties restaurants & hotel Food and Drinks operations, including Cap Juluca Hotel-Resort, Anguilla (Caribbean Islands) a Leading resort of the world, and Le meridian Mount Soche boutique Hotel- Blantyre in Malawi. In 2001 he joined the team of the Disney Magic Cruise Line, Florida as Sous Chef.
After being promoted to Executive Sous Chef, he decided to advance his knowledge of dietetic & Healthy food for his future job at La Résidence des cascades which he later joined in 2004 as Executive Chef for the pre-opening of the hotel.
He became a member of Movenpick family in 2008 as Executive Chef for two properties in Tunisia and later joined one property in Mauritius Island.
As Executive Chef of Hormuz Grand Muscat, Thierry Quintric will oversee all the outlets at the hotel that include OMNY Brasserie, Qureshi Bab-Al -Hind, Straits, Vault and the Hub along with extensive banquet and outside catering offerings as well as in-room dining for 231 rooms. Over the past couple of years, the property has created a distinct position for itself and offers guests a unique dining experience. Mr. Thierry is known as a follower of the new cooking method that always put in value freshness and organic products; and a big fan of Mediterranean food that offers a large range of herbs and spices to discover and likes to feature in his sophisticated culinary creations.
